We take the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously. In the Covid era, we are closely following the guidelines from the Ministry of Education and are adapting our practices as needed to maintain a healthy and safe learning environment.

When a staff, student or other adult can return to school depends on the type of symptoms they experienced as indicated in the K Health Check app , when to get tested for COVID , if a COVID test is recommended, and the type of illness they had: e.

COVID or other illness. Students and staff who experience symptoms consistent with a previously diagnosed health condition e. They do not require re-assessment by a health-care provider and should not be required to provide a health-care provider note. If they experience any new or unexplained symptoms, they should seek assessment by a health-care provider.

Children who are experiencing symptoms of illness or are feeling unwell at school, parents will be called to pick up as soon as possible. If you are planning a trip, you may be required to quarantine upon your return. Please inform the Front Office and your class teacher of any international travel plans. If NWS families or students are planning on travelling outside of Canada during the school year, you are asked to please adhere to the travel guidelines as set out by the Government of Canada Covid Travel Requirements.

This helpful link is for vaccinated families who are travelling outside of Canada with children 12 and under who are unable to be vaccinated at this time.
