Failed to join game age of empires 3 windows 7
Pretty much everytime I try to connect to a friends game using Hamachi or any other vpn client or he to mine it gives us the "Failed to Join Game" message. I googled and found out that this issue is very common, but remains often unsolved. I noticed that the ip number displayed in a room hosted by me was different than the hamachi's one, and i supposed that had to be the problem.
I googled some more specific terms and i found here the steps to fix it:. Go to your My Games folder. Go to the Startup folder. If there is not a user. In user. I have installed Age of Empires 3. I have my old pc with xp service pack 3 still connected via same router and it continues to connect to games, so i assume the the router is ok. Even so, I've disconected the router and reconnected after some time this used to sort this occasional issue on my old pc but its no better on my new pc. I've adjusted windows to run older version with this game, but no improvement.
Age of Empires 3 site talks about ports and router issues, I've had a look at ports, but dont understand what i should change, if anything. Can anyone help please? This thread is locked. I have tried port forwarding, updating everything possible, setting my firewalls turning them all off completely.
Router is thomson TGVN. Showing 1 - 15 of 31 comments. The same problem here. I also tried it with port forwarding and so on. Also using a thomson but tgv7. The intresting thing: - I can host games and some players can join but not my friend.
Any ideas how to solve it? Or how my friend can join, because all other games can be joined by my friend. Hello athene! Thomson routers and aoe 3 are notorious for not working well together or so I read from forums There is a "port used for incoming connections" set that to and uncheck "randomize port each start. Step 4: Find yourself a legal torrent for an example: archive. This works for thomson routers and worked for me. I hope this works for you too, tell me if it doesn't.
Thank you for your Answer. I will try it soon. So, you just open a port and use it all the time with a small package and then aoe3 also uses it. Thx again. Exactly, thomson routers for some reason don't want to open it for you, even if you set it correctly from router settings. Unfortunatley this solution is not working for me. I also tried to totally open my port via the firewall, but also this didn't work.
Override Port The Override Port will let you specify a port to use instead of relying on UPnP or the game's port discovery process.
