Zen x fi firmware updates
Video quality is very good, more formats than most other PMPs; Speaker is good, calendar and voice recorder useful, FM tuner needs a strong signal. Overall better than 5 top PMPs I looked at - I was on the edge about Cowon, however Nearest competitor: Cowon D2 16GB limited to F folders and files: Internal memory files and folders, external memory: files and folders. I have files on Zen's internal memory and 1. Would be better to integrate SD card however challenges in file allocation table limitations and boot up time may be prohibitive.
FM tuner is weak but usable. Display is not transreflective and hard to read in sunlight. I Hope Creative updates firmware with well thought out user suggestions. Creative Support responds. Pros: Size, Functionality, very clear screen, ability to drag and drop songs directly to the player, very light, great battery life, sound quality is excellent.
Cons: menu navigation takes some getting used to. I researched alot of different ones and for the price this is one of the best values. Cons: -Horrible, horrible software.
The Creative Centrale program is slow, confusing and feels a few years old. I have to use a separate program to convert videos and sync the device -SD support is basically useless for music i only use it for vids, so not a con for me -Divx compatible, not certified -Shuffle sucks, for some reason it seems to favor your first 5 albums -WiFi is a gimmick without a browser.
Overall Review: Even with all the cons, they are all minor at least for me, especially after finding workarounds and still make it superior in my mind to any other player. I just wish Creative would step up, release some good software and add a browser. I only use Centrale for album art. Pros: unbeatable sound; tons of features; amazing bundled headphones; small size. Cons: cheap plastic feel; smudges relatively easily; jammed once on me, but reset button fixed it; buttons are a little small.
Overall Review: the pros definitely outdo the cons on this player; replaced my Zune with this and don't regret at all. Pros: I purchased this unit about a year ago and the sound quality is beyond great. It outdoes the ipod in sound quality. Cons: Other than great music and video playback, there's really not anything "innovative" about it. Biden to send military medical teams to help hospitals.

I initially prefer the sound from the Hip DAC though. Snappier and clearer with my Sundaras. Anyone maybe compared? Baten Headphoneus Supremus.

I thought I would get used to the short cut-off of about half a second every time I start music, but I've since noticed it also affects Windows sounds. So if I get a notification I will actually only hear the last fraction of the chime. I already tried using the iFi Control Panel to set the latency to the lowest possible, but that changed nothing. What's your firmware?
